May the peace, love and joy this festive occasion brings, be with you and your loved ones all year round! *</=D How're you celebrating your Christmas? One of the unique Christmas order that Collage Scraps had received from a client for his artsy-fartsy friend, the client placed an order for our customised tumbler art. We customised a Graffiti City - Make Art Not War tumbler art. Let's have a look at the craft technicalities. (1) Background Background stamp by Inkadinako and Typo, in bursting colours of Faber Castell Sunshine Yellow, Artnic Apple Green, VersaFine Deep Lagoon, VersaColour Burgundy and VersaFine Onyx Black using finger-printing technique to create a vibrant graffiti background. (2) Foreground Architecture look of the city die-cuts using Japanese marbled cardstock in matching colours of the background. (3) Wordings Individually stamped alphabets of "Make Art Not War." in VersaFine Deep Lagoon and VersaFine Onyx Black. (4) The Story In this cosmopolitan city, artists had always championed for the freedom and the space to express their art freely. The solution is not about allocating spaces for art but rather in the exploration of how we can integrate/ inject art into our daily lives and our living spaces, brightening up and breathing life into our otherwise dull architecture structures in the city. Do you have a unique Christmas handmade gift to share? Do send us your thoughts!
Anne from Team Graphic45 came up with a really fresh idea on using tags, that is, Slider Tags! It surely got us all in the scrapbooking community, raving and we simply can't wait to DIY our very own!
Anne did a really good job sharing a YouTube video on the groundwork and craft technicalities behind the architecture of the slider tag. It's about 50mins long video, do watch it through if you've the time. Otherwise, like us, you can start the video from 15:00mins. =P With slight improvisations we make in the process, have a look at our final product! Itching to make your own already? Happy crafting and long weekends y'all! 9 Aug 2013 marks the 48th birthday of Singapore! Here's wishing the youthful nation, peace, unity and prosperity forevermore! As heartlanders do their final preparations of their gestures of well-wishes for the country, here's what a close friend, Mr Robin Oh (co-founder of Designed) had prepared for Singapore! Designed is founded by 2 budding Singaporean entrepreneurs, Mr Robin Oh and Mr Neo Poh Hong, who sworn to take woodcraft to a whole new level. In each of their wood work, not only do they challenge the traditionalism of the trade, they challenge the creativity of the human minds to constantly "think out of the box". Encouraged by the positive feedbacks they had received from their satisfied clients, we'll surely stay tuned to what's more to come from Designed. 'Nuff said, let's take a look at the technicalities of this "birthday present" Designed, prepared for Singapore. Craft Technicalities: 2 days on foot, gathering 48 pieces of wood from discarded bed frames, cupboards and wooden planks, found all around Singapore + 101% craftsmanship and sheer hard work I don't know about you, but I did feel that this piece of woodcraft is trying to convey a very strong message, close to heart. Just as how the 48 different pieces of wood from different locations and different make and type come together to form a complete piece of art, it signifies the power of unity. That is, people from different walks of life, even though they may not located physically here, there's always a strong sense of home, close to their hearts. And home, being Singapore. What're your thoughts? Share on this amazing piece of well-thought gift by Designed, to Singapore. Happy Birthday, Singapore! |
