Established since 2009 with a pure love for everything handmade, I was so inspired by the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) movement, I had first started Collage Scraps with just about anything I could get my hands on- 'upcycling' old books & magazines, maps, textured cloth scraps and turning them into mood boards, tumbler art and had later accepted customisation requests for scrapbook layouts, themed celebratory cards, notebook covers and festive gift tags.
In 2011, I put in an application for The Apprenticeship Programme (Arts&Design) organised by Noise Singapore, and was pleased to have scored an interview by Ms Kelley Cheng, the Creative Director of The Press Room! What was also amazing in that experience was for me to meet with the other visual artists & having conversations with them about their work - something that is unchanged about me in 'adulting' years, my curiosity to learn more about the various other art forms & dabble with when i get the chance to!
Today, the DIY movement means more than before - it is digital detox, a pause button for a slow & mindful living. We want to bring you ideas that would inspire you to play, let's have Playtime for Everyday!
