It has been real long while since my last tumbler art! Bringing you: Travel Documented Altered Tumbler ! Like most scrappers out there, I adore documenting about things on travel trips and I collect ticket stubs, postcards, brochures and just about any travel collectables I can get my hands on, and add them the photo albums or Project Life. This way, it gives a whole lot meaning and gush of travel memories when I look through the travel photos. And this, is the inspiration and story behind this Travel Documented Altered Tumbler. Let's have a close-up look on the details: Background stamp was by Inkadinkado. Instead of the regular stamping, stamped images were cut into strips of different sizes and I did a collage of these stamped strips for the background. Just as a travel trip, we piece together each and every memory and detail, and that's what makes the trip feels complete and wholesome. The pennant stamp was from Unity. I've chosen Charcoal Black from VersaFine Ink Pad, to bring out the intricate details of the stamps. The vintage map of Japan was from an old Atlas book. You can probably find an Atlas book in one of the thrift shops in your neighbourhoods or the nearest bookstore. Use a pair of really sharp scissors to trim the edges round the map, then distress the edges with Bark from VersaFine, to recreate a vintage look. Rolling 'em up and trim round the edges (if need to). Other idea: Recreate the look in the form of a tag or even a 12" x 12" scrapbook page, where you can add on travel photos, write short captions and embellish with ticket stubs, cut-outs from travel brochures and postcards or just any other collectables from the trip! Hope you like this!

"Using a tumbler is a great way to be a little kinder to the environment" -- Starbucks. I chanced upon a line of Starbucks "Create Your Own" Tumbler while shopping for a friend's birthday present. And I can't wait to get the "DIY" started! I thought hard and long on the theme. And I decided on a "Farmer in the Dell" theme! Not that my friend has green fingers, but simply because it gives a weekend-sy country feel which is best accompanied with a cuppa of Starbucks Coffee. (Starbucks should so paid an advertorial fee for this!)
